Frequently Asked Questions

dish-it-outHow does this site work?

It’s simple. Through the course of any given day, when you find yourself thinking, “I would do anything for a piece of chocolate instead of doing this” take a minute, snap a picture (if you can) and share your thoughts/frustrations/heart’s desire here (in about 50 words or less). It will take no time at all! Our Share page will guide you through the process.

What is the origin of IRHC?

Those of us who work at Godiva are fortunate enough to think about chocolate for a living. Because, we hear how much so many other people love to talk about chocolate, we decided to create this space to let all you chocoholics out there share what makes you think about chocolate…. (other than its general delicious-ness.) We can’t wait to read the stories you post!

How do I know if I’d rather have chocolate?

For some of us it’s ‘how do I know when I wouldn’t rather have chocolate’ but for those new to the site (or new to chocolate, for that matter) it’s easy to figure out. You know that wonderful feeling of bliss and comfort you feel when you bite into a piece of chocolate? Well compare that to your neighbor’s bimonthly “theme parties” that found you dressed as a pirate last Sunday afternoon. You’d rather have chocolate, wouldn’t you?

Could I really win 100 pieces of chocolate daily?

Absolutely! We want to give you what you really want (and lots of it!) So have your post receive the highest average score and breathe a big sigh of relief because you will receive 100 pieces of Godiva Gems!

How many times can I submit to IRHC?

We know how often you think about chocolate, so you can share your stories as many times as you’d like! And have no fear; you can win chocolate up to three times each year for a winning post. So go ahead, share your chocolate cravings early and often!

How many times can I vote for a post?

Chocolate is a very desirable thing, so we want everyone to have a fair shake at receiving some from us. Therefore, you may only vote on a post once. Though, we encourage you to vote for as many posts as you like.

Can I submit a post if I am not a US citizen?

Our chocolate knows no bounds. We want everyone to share their stories with us, so posts can be made by non-US citizens. However, we cannot send chocolate to non-US citizens.  Please see our Terms and Conditions for more information.

I’ve delighted you with my story of chocolate envy but I don’t yet see it on the site. Where is it?

Most likely it is still in moderation. But that said, like any blog or site, we can’t post anything offensive, inappropriate or containing insulting language. Give us 24 hours, if you still don’t see it, shoot us an email at IRHC@idratherhavechocoloate.com.
